The Memphis Commercial Appeal's Kyle Veazey was in Jonesboro, Ark. when Arkansas State defeated Louisiana-Lafayette for the de facto Sun Belt Championship. He shares his thoughts on what he saw from Freeze, the team, the program and the fan base.

What I remember most about that afternoon isn't so much about the kind of football they played as it was the kind of excitement the community had about the team. The radio guy was hyping it up big-time driving in. Said it was the biggest game there in 25 years. A hotel by the bypass had "FEEL THE FREEZE" painted on the window. That sort of stuff.

A Mississippi native, inspirational leader and one of the nation’s top rising coaches, Hugh Freeze was the first choice to return championships to Ole Miss Football and will be introduced as the Rebels’ 37th head coach today at 2 p.m. CT at the Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts on campus.

The event is open to the public and will be streamed free online at OleMissSports.com.

Head coach Andy Kennedy strengthened his Ole Miss basketball program Monday by adding a new staff member, promoting another and signing a familiar player.

Head coach Andy Kennedy strengthened his Ole Miss basketball program Monday by adding a new staff member, promoting another and signing a familiar player.

It was announced today that former Middle Tennessee assistant coach Al Pinkins has accepted that same post for the Rebels, while Bill Armstrong has been elevated from Ole Miss’ coordinator of operations to assistant coach. In addition, former Rebel forward Murphy Holloway has transferred back to Ole Miss after a year at South Carolina.
