Football is something synonymous with Mississippi; really, with the South in general. Families are born and bred by it, friendships are formed by it, and sometimes even broken up by it.

Football is something synonymous with Mississippi; really, with the South in general. Families are born and bred by it, friendships are formed by it, and sometimes even broken up by it.

Football, in its essence, is something far more than a game. To explain the use of this term: It is a violent game filled with great risks. Players are injured every day, yet the public still comes back each season, buying their tickets, and preparing themselves for another season of wins or losses: All in the name of the game.

It has been almost a year since artist Brittany Bass left Athens, a city she grew to love. But setting up shop in Oxford wasn’t such a big transition; Oxford is often considered a smaller version of the city that has become known as the poster child of music and art in the South.

While Saturday’s game may have pitted two disappointing football teams against each other, the real match-up was that of two top 5 ranked party schools.
Over the summer, Princeton Review released its college rankings, announcing Georgia as the No. 2 party school in the nation, with the University of Mississippi right behind them at  No. 3.
Even though they are ranked ahead of the Rebels, many Georgia fans were more than impressed with what the small Mississippi school brought to the table with tailgating.

Hello Eliza, my name is Dan and I’ve been dating this girl for about two months long-distance; she goes to University of Georgia and I’m here.

Dear Eliza,
Hello Eliza, my name is Dan and I’ve been dating this girl for about two months long-distance; she goes to University of Georgia and I’m here.

We went to high school together and over the years stayed in touch. We usually text a few times during the day to see what’s going on and then we’ll talk on the phone some nights out of the week.

Dear Eliza,

I’m a sophomore this year, and I don’t know if it’s just the classes that I’m taking or I’m just more involved than I have been in the past, but I feel so stressed. Recruitment has started, so my sorority has become psycho and my teachers are not very understanding with everything going on either. I’m trying to stay positive but I feel a major breakdown coming. What should I do?
