“I knew today would be a challenge because we went almost 200 plays yesterday of full [contact],” Freeze said. “It was a meat grinder. We needed it. I knew this morning the after effects of that could be a challenge, but I did think we found a way to get some good stuff done.”

If your stomach is empty and you need someone to talk to, Dennis Van Oostendorpis is just the man to wain the woe.
Van Oostendorpis, owner and operator of 6‘N Tubbs on Jackson Avenue, said there is one thing he would like to make clear from the get go:
“This place is not a restaurant," he said, grinning. "It’s more social than that. You come in, have a slice, shoot the breeze, watch the game and split when you’re ready. 6’N Tubbs is a pizza joint."

Patricio Gonzalez, Jose Salazar and Ingrid Cruz will lead the walk.

They expect to arrive in front of the Lyceum at approximately 7 p.m.

I never thought that after spending five years working as a journalist in one form or another, I would ever bring up a challenge to free speech. Then on March 23, last Tuesday, a large truck came rolling through campus bearing an approximately seven-foot tall image of an aborted fetus.

Each time the truck drove past the windows of my classroom, I tried not to look. To ensure they were not being ignored, the anti-abortionists repeatedly used a loudspeaker to continue drawing attention to their truck.

The Farmers’ Market, a greengrocer located on North Lamar, is a one-stop shop for local produce, obscure spices, international fare and artisan meats and cheeses.

The Farmers’ Market has bushel-loads of character, from the handwoven shopping baskets to the handwritten labels describing which town, state or country the produce is from.

As wonderful as Oxford is, sometimes it’s nice to get away; however, going all the way back home is not always the most appealing option.

MARKS -- The fake-plant-decorated warehouse-turned-restaurant called The Dining Room is the social epicenter of Marks. Everybody from Chancery Clerk Butch Scipper to long-time civil rights activist James Figgs sidles up to the buffet to fill their plates with fried chicken, collard greens and black eyed peas. Shiny loafers and beat tennis shoes alike squeak against linoleum floors.
