It’s been a wild and crazy ride for Ole Miss senior forward Murphy Holloway the past few years. He has ventured between South Carolina and Mississippi multiple times, but now, his focus is all on one thing: getting the Rebels to the NCAA Tournament.

Holloway was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year his senior year of high school and decided to come to Ole Miss for the 2008-09 season. He led the team in rebounding that year as a freshman and the following year as a sophomore.

News sources say Gov. Romney wins  the five electoral votes of West Virginia and the nine electoral votes of South Carolina, 0 percent and 1 percent of precincts reporting respectively.

Ohio results are beginning to come in.  Romney leading 57 percent to Obama's 42 percent with one percent of precincts reporting.

According to various news sources Gov. Romney has gained the support of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas,  Tennessee, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming and Mississippi.
President Obama has gained the support of New York, New Jersey and Michigan.  He is also leading in seven of the nine battleground states.
The current electoral count puts Gov. Romney ahead of President Obama in the electoral vote count 152-123.  One of the candidates must receive 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.

Freshman middle blocker Nakeyta Clair has shown her potential for the Ole Miss Lady Rebels volleyball team throughout the season. Clair is now considered a dual threat for Ole Miss, recording kills on offense and blocking opponents’ attacks on defense.

The Ole Miss Lady Rebels (10-11, 4-8 SEC) will hit the road for the first time in three weeks this weekend when they take on the Kentucky Wildcats and the LSU Tigers. The Lady Rebels are coming off a straight-set loss to Auburn on Sunday after wins against Missouri and South Carolina the weekend before.

After snapping a four-game losing streak with an upset win over Missouri and a sweep of South Carolina last weekend, the Ole Miss volleyball team (10-10, 4-7 Southeastern Conference) will host one match this weekend against the Auburn Tigers (13-8, 4-7) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

When junior outside hitter Kara Morgan sat out the loss to Alabama last month with an ankle injury, it was apparent that the success of the Lady Rebels volleyball team depended on Morgan’s successes on the court.

Since arriving at Ole Miss, Morgan has been an important asset to the team. Besides sitting out the Alabama game, the Pickens, S.C., native has played in every match as a Lady Rebel, including all 109 sets last season and 70 of the 74 sets this season.

Ole Miss (8-7, 2-3 SEC) lost Friday night to Alabama, 3-1, but bounced back in Columbia, S.C., to sweep South Carolina 3-0. Junior outside hitter Kara Morgan, who leads the team with 155 kills, did not play in the Alabama match because of a sprained ankle.

If anyone wasn’t already impressed with Alabama in the first two weeks of the season, they have to be after the Crimson Tide trampled the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road last weekend 52-0. Although Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson was sidelined with a head injury, it’s still really impressive what Nick Saban and his squad have been able to accomplish in the first few weeks of the year.

One of the six is the federal courthouse in Meridian, which was built in 1933 during the Great Depression and has served as both a courthouse and a post office for the southern Mississippi town. The other five are Gadsen, Ala.; Pikeville, Ky.; Wilkesboro, N.C.; Beaufort, S.C.; and Amarillo, Texas. James Meredith filed his lawsuit against The University of Mississippi at the Meridian federal courthouse in 1961 to integrate the school.

The Tigers will be in the national championship discussion again this year. LSU starts the season with a favorable schedule, and they get to play Alabama at home this year. The Tigers will once again rely on their defense, despite the loss of All-American corner Tyrann Mathieu. Zach Mettenberger will hope to give LSU a stronger presence at quarterback that they did not have a year ago.

The Ole Miss volleyball team will play a 29-match schedule this fall that includes the Rebels’ annual home tournament with the Magnolia Invitational and a 10-game home slate against Southeastern Conference foes, head coach Joe Getzin announced on Thursday.
