Good nutrition does not come cheap. Students at Oxford and Lafayette County schools will experience this first hand when meal prices increase by 25 cents this fall.
Oxford Superintendent Brian Harvey said he is not worried that the rise in costs will deter families from buying school lunches.
“When you talk about paying $2.25 for a lunch, that’s still a pretty good deal,” Harvey said. “You can’t eat for that anywhere else.”
