In this week’s installment, Daily Mississippian football beat writer Bennett Hipp will give keys to the week’s matchup.

Test Ash Early

Texas quarterback David Ash has put up solid numbers during the first two games, but he hasn’t been able to affect the game by throwing downfield. The Longhorns have had only two pass plays go for more than 20 yards. Ash, who is only a sophomore, could be on edge early on the road in what promises to be a raucous environment. Disguising coverages or creative blitzes early on could rattle Ash and create an early turnover.

I mean, vote for them if you believe the veritable issuance of fecal matter coming from either one of the candidates’ mouths. I would hope you wouldn’t, but to each his own.
If you don’t agree with the two major candidates, I beg you to find a candidate with whom you do fully or even mostly agree. One who’s probably not lying about what they’re going to do in office.

Texas head coach Mack Brown participated in Monday morning's Big 12 teleconference and talked about this week's matchup with Ole Miss. Brown knows he has some questions that must be answered about his team come Saturday night.

There's a different feeling in Oxford right now as Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze and the Rebels are getting ready to host No. 14 Texas for Saturday night's showdown at 8:15 p.m.

Much has been said about the number of fans that will make the trip from Texas, but as for Longhorn head coach Mack Brown and his squad, they're just focused on getting out of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium with a win and improving to 3-0 on the young season.

Voters take their issues pretty seriously. There are family values, the economy, the Constitution, taxes and personal freedom, just to name a few. This is largely why the Republican Party has surged in the past few years, and 2012 was supposed to shake things up even more.

Despite all the force behind the GOP, it somehow chose incredibly unimpressive candidates. The party once known for the Reagan Revolution just doesn’t have much going for it. Sure, there’s the Tea Party, but we’re still paying for a decade and a half of bad decisions.
