The Ole Miss track and field team will be heading to Lexington, Ky., for the SEC Championships Friday through Sunday. The Rebels are coming off a great showing at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., in which senior Logan Waites broke her own school record in the 5,000 meters, and the women’s distance medley relay team of Anne Threlkeld, Sofia Hellberg-Jonsen, Tia Leake and Kayleigh Skinner also set a school record. The men’s team enters this weekend ranked No. 22 in the nation, while the women’s team sits at No. 95 in this week’s USTFCCCA poll.

Rumors, reports and all kinds of bad history abound in the wake of Ole Miss’ fourth-quarter collapse Saturday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Rumors, reports and all kinds of bad history abound in the wake of Ole Miss’ fourth-quarter collapse Saturday.

With the 30-13 loss at Kentucky, the Rebels’ Southeastern Conference losing streak stands at 12 games, the longest in school history. And, for the first time since 1950, Ole Miss has lost to Vanderbilt and Kentucky in the same season.

Suffice to say, there’s uncertainty surrounding head coach Houston Nutt’s future, or lack thereof, in Oxford.

Ole Miss leads the all-time series 27-13-1, including a 42-35 win in Oxford this past season.

I’ve discovered you either love Sarah Palin, or you don’t. There is no in between. Whether she’s enforcing America’s need to stand with our allies the “North” Koreans, or creating new words for the English language “refudiate,” the Tea Party conservative certainly knows how to keep herself and the movement in the news.

Unfortunately, in her case, that’s not always a good thing.
