Hoping to keep the momentum from this past weekend’s series win over Arkansas, No. 18 Ole Miss (27-13) will face the Memphis Tigers (17-23) tonight at AutoZone Park in Memphis.

The Rebels defeated the Tigers 7-2 earlier this season in Oxford. In that matchup, Ole Miss used a five-run eighth inning to claim the victory.

ATHENS, Ga. – The offense roared to life on Saturday with the Rebels pounding out 20 hits on the afternoon as No. 18 Ole Miss (24-12 7-8 SEC) defeated Georgia (22-14, 7-8 SEC) by a score of 8-3 in the finale of the weekend series.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second game on the weekend, it was the team that got the big hit and not the most hits that won the contest as No. 10 Ole Miss (21-10, 6-6 SEC) fell to No. 1 Kentucky (30-3, 9-3 SEC) by a score of 8-3 on Sunday.

The Rebels out-hit the Wildcats 11-to-8 in the game, but left eight men stranded on the afternoon, while Kentucky got the big hit in the sixth to take the lead for good on a grand slam from Cameron Flynn. Ole Miss led 2-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

Cliff Godwin has joined the Ole Miss baseball coaching staff as the program’s new hitting coach, head coach Mike Bianco announced on Tuesday.

Godwin comes to the Rebels after spending the last three seasons as the associate head coach at the University of Central Florida, where he ran the Knights’ offense and also served as the recruiting coordinator.

In his time as an assistant coach on the Division I level, Godwin has worked with 39 players who have gone on to the professional ranks.

In dramatic fashion, freshman third baseman Preston Overbey hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in a 7-6 series-clinching win for the Ole Miss baseball team (27-21, 11-13 SEC) over No. 3 South Carolina (37-10, 18-6 SEC) on Sunday afternoon.

"Today was one of the more emotional games that I have played in since I've been here,” Yarbrough said on Sunday’s win. “It's huge. The way we won  — to get the lead, to go back-and-forth, never giving up and winning in the ninth inning walk-off — it's huge."

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Rebels got men in scoring position, but couldn’t come up with the big hit when they needed to as Ole Miss (24-20, 9-12 SEC) dropped the series finale to No. 4 Florida (34-10, 17-4 SEC) on Sunday by a score of 7-2.

Ole Miss put men in scoring position in four of the first five innings, but couldn’t get a run home until Will Allen’s single in the seventh inning put the Rebels on the board.

Holding to a 7-5 lead in the seventh inning, the Rebels gave up a three-run shot to Kevin Patterson, giving Auburn the first lead of the game. Ole Miss wasn’t able to come up with an answering rally in the final two innings as the Tigers grabbed the win.

The past couple of years have been disappointing for Ole Miss baseball fans. The Rebels have routinely hosted Regionals and Super Regionals, and the last couple of years the team has had to travel to a regional, something that has frustrated the fan base.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Matt Smith went 3-for-3 with a home run, but it wasn’t enough to overcome two errors that led to an early deficit on Sunday as Ole Miss (19-10, 4-5 SEC) fell to No. 17 LSU (20-8, 3-6 SEC) by a score of 8-2.

Smith led a Rebel offense that notched eight hits, but the two early errors helped LSU build a lead that Ole Miss couldn’t overcome in the rubber game of the weekend series. Ole Miss fell by one run in Friday’s game before claiming a 16-3 win on Saturday to even the series.
